VIDEO: Chit-Chat Get Ready with Me for Work - House Updates!!

Thursday, February 15, 2018

One of my favorite types of videos are causal talk-through tutorials, where I can actually take the time to explain techniques, products I'm using, and throw in a couple life updates. For today's video, I'm bringing you along with me while I get ready for work. This features some of my go-to products to get ready quickly, look more awake, and not over-done for the office. I guess you could call it a natural, everyday makeup routine for work.

I'm also sharing how I refresh my curls (on days I don't wash my hair, because that requires me getting up even earlier which is not ideal). I show how I detangle, reapply product, and diffuse.

Since I was sick with a cold while filming, I figured what better time sip on my favorite tea while chatting with you all. Teami Tea has been my go-to recently, and the Relax blend has especially helped with my sore throat. I mixed in some honey, lemon, and steeped in my Teami tumbler.

If you're interested in checking it out, use my code "GENA10" for 10% off your Teami purchase.

Now on to my go-to products and brushes for everyday, and some new additions I'm testing out!

Becca Under Eye Brightening Primer, Corrector, & Powder

Becca Cosmetics, known for their highlighting products, recently released a line of products designed to brighten under eyes and cover dark circles, fine lines, and correct puffy bags. I've been a long time fan of the corrector concealer, but the primer and setting powder were totally new to me.

The Anti-Fatigue Under Eye Primer is an eye balm and primer in one, that smooths and blurs fine lines, while reducing puffiness over time. It prevents creasing, and helps hydrate the eye area to reduce dryness.

The Under Eye Brightening Corrector is a full-coverage cream concealer that is tinted peach, which helps color correct blue hues under the eyes. It has illuminators to brighten an make eyes appear more awake.

The Under Eye Brightening Setting Powder is the last step, and sets concealer into place with a smooth, brightening, pearl-like finish. It helps make concealer last longer, without looking cakey or dry.

Overall, I was definitely impressed with all 3 products. I could clearly see the difference in my dark circles, and my eyes appeared brighter and more awake. The concealer claims to be water-resistant, but it doesn't hold up the best on my oily eye lids. Although it does work great underneath and doesn't settle into creases there. The setting powder was great at keeping my concealer in place without feeling dry.

The concealer comes in 2 shades, one for light skin and one for dark. Since I didn't need the dark one, I thought I'd do another giveaway. Happy Valentine's Day loves :)

Sunday, February 04, 2018

Sigma was the very first makeup brush company that I fell in love with, and I am still an fan after my brushes have held up for over 8 years- not even kidding! They're pros at making brushes, and have recently been creating innovative brush cleaning devices, such as the Spa Glove, that make washing your brushes not such a dreaded chore.

Their newest release, the SigMagic Scrub is a two-in-one device that has a solid brush cleanser, and a textured surface that scrubs away stubborn makeup and bacteria from the bristles. It suctions to your sink, so you can easily clean your brushes without getting your hands dirty. The formula is all-natural, and contains coconut and palm oil to gently cleanse and condition brushes. Watch the video tutorial above to see how to use the SigMagic Scrub with face brushes, eye brushes, and sponges.

You can get the SigMagic Scrub here for only $19.

You may have seen my video review on Sigma's "younger sister" brand Prakt, the more affordable brush cleaning tool at only $9.95. It fits right in the palm of your hand, or can be suctioned to your sink. It has two textured sides that deep clean face and eye brushes. I'm giving away 3 Palmats to 3 lucky winners! To enter:

Skincare Routine for Combination Skin

Combination skin can be one of the most difficult to tackle, because typically you may be oily in your T-zone but dry or normal in other areas of your face. Luckily in the winter, my skin is not as oily but can feel pretty dry at times. I also struggle with hormonal acne occasionally, and clogged pores.

I'm sharing the skincare products that I use for both my morning and night time routines. I'm always on the hunt for the best products that fade acne scars, dark spots, but that don't dry out the skin. I opt for more natural skincare products, and try to use products that are not harsh on my skin. I'm also focused on anti-aging, and struggle with dark circles and redness.

I also wanted to share a mini review of the new Colorescience Total Eye, which is available for pre-sale starting today, and officially launching February 1st.

It's a 3-in-1 undereye treatment that protect skin with SPF 35, corrects immediately with a neutral peach tone, and addresses long term under eye concerns such as lines, wrinkles, and dark circles. It has a cooling metal applicator that helps sooth puffy undereye bags, and blend the product into the skin. It also helps prime skin for smooth makeup application.

Colorescience Total Eye Before and After Results

I've been loving my results from using the Total Eye, and instantly see the color correction in my dark circles. It also does not settle into fine lines, or crease throughout the day. I apply it under my foundation, and then apply the rest of my makeup. The results shown above are after makeup of course! Typically, even with makeup my dark circles can peak through, but with using the total eye they are completely corrected!

Pre-Order yours now here.
