VIDEO: How I Cleared Up My Skin for Summer - Skincare Routine

Tuesday, June 20, 2017

I love going bare-faced in the summer, but it's especially hard if my skin is not looking it's best. Recently I was experiencing bad breakouts that I couldn't get under control. I was testing new products, such as primers, foundations, and skincare. I finally got my skin under control and wanted to share tips that I did, as well as some of my favorite skincare products for my summer routine.

VIDEO: Drugstore Concealer Hacks ft. Maybelline

Concealer is one of those products where you can use it for just about anything. It's probably one of the most multi-purpose products that comes in so many different formulas. Great drugstore concealers are hard to come by, but Maybelline recently has expended their concealer collection significantly. With countless formulas such as cream, liquid, stick, etc., it's easy to get confused on which is used for what!

In this video, I'm sharing TONS of uses or "hacks" using concealer. These are practical, and will help you perfect your daily makeup routine. I show how to cover dark circles, blemishes, brighten and more.

VIDEO: Becca x Chrissy Teigen Glow Palette Summer Makeup Tutorial

Sunday, May 28, 2017

The Becca x Chrissy Teigen Glow Palette is the newest addition to their amazing lineup of highlighters and face products. Just in time for summer, the limited edition palette contains 2 peach/rose gold toned highlighters, bronzer, and blush.

I created the bronze full-face look using only the palette. I wanted something simple, so I used the same shades as eyeshadow to brighten and create depth on the eyes.

VIDEO: Sonic Foundation Brushes Compared - SonicBlend vs BlendSmart vs Clarisonic

Thursday, May 25, 2017

Sonic makeup brushes are the latest in beauty-tech, and they are designed to give a more flawless airbrushed application of foundation. Several brands are making their way to the market such as Michael Todd's SonicBlend, BlendSmart, and the Clarisonic Makeup Brush head. Each are very different, and have advantages and disadvantages. Some work best with only thin texture foundations, and others work with all types.

The SonicBlend, pictured on the far left, uses sonic technology and to blend makeup faster and more evenly. It uses 400 micro-movements per second that press foundation into the skin, versus rotating brushes that can causes streakiness. The brush head is also made of anti-microbial bristles to avoid bacteria growth. It has 3 speeds which allow you to use it with several formulas of foundation and is rechargeable.

It also comes in 4 different colors and has 3 different brush heads which are available separately.

The SonicBlend retails for approx. $62 when ordered through my 20% discount link.

The BlendSmart, pictured in the center, is a rotating makeup brush that has a magnetic brush head. The brush has 1 speed and also is powered by battery. The duo-fibre bristles are not dense, therefore work best with lightweight liquid texture foundations.

The BlendSmart retails for approx. $69 at Sephora.

Finally, the Clarisonic Sonic Foundation Brush head can be applied on any Clarisonic device. This one is the least dense of them all and will work best with BB creams, tinted moisturizers, and thin foundations. Just like the others, the bristles are anti-microbial. The main difference from the others is that the bristles are non-porous as well, which allows for easier cleaning.

The Clarisonic Sonic Foundation Brush Head retails for approx. $35 at Ulta. Clarisonic bases (purchased separately) are approx. $129-$219.
