VIDEO: Sonic Foundation Brushes Compared - SonicBlend vs BlendSmart vs Clarisonic

Thursday, May 25, 2017

Sonic makeup brushes are the latest in beauty-tech, and they are designed to give a more flawless airbrushed application of foundation. Several brands are making their way to the market such as Michael Todd's SonicBlend, BlendSmart, and the Clarisonic Makeup Brush head. Each are very different, and have advantages and disadvantages. Some work best with only thin texture foundations, and others work with all types.

The SonicBlend, pictured on the far left, uses sonic technology and to blend makeup faster and more evenly. It uses 400 micro-movements per second that press foundation into the skin, versus rotating brushes that can causes streakiness. The brush head is also made of anti-microbial bristles to avoid bacteria growth. It has 3 speeds which allow you to use it with several formulas of foundation and is rechargeable.

It also comes in 4 different colors and has 3 different brush heads which are available separately.

The SonicBlend retails for approx. $62 when ordered through my 20% discount link.

The BlendSmart, pictured in the center, is a rotating makeup brush that has a magnetic brush head. The brush has 1 speed and also is powered by battery. The duo-fibre bristles are not dense, therefore work best with lightweight liquid texture foundations.

The BlendSmart retails for approx. $69 at Sephora.

Finally, the Clarisonic Sonic Foundation Brush head can be applied on any Clarisonic device. This one is the least dense of them all and will work best with BB creams, tinted moisturizers, and thin foundations. Just like the others, the bristles are anti-microbial. The main difference from the others is that the bristles are non-porous as well, which allows for easier cleaning.

The Clarisonic Sonic Foundation Brush Head retails for approx. $35 at Ulta. Clarisonic bases (purchased separately) are approx. $129-$219.

Since I've been feeling super out of the Youtube world loop, I thought I'd share the madness that has been going on in my life recently. First off, I got engaged! My boyfriend Nathan, of 10 years, proposed while in Punta Cana on vacation last week. We couldn't be happier, and are excited for the next crazy chapter of our life.

For today's video I am sharing how he proposed and more details from our vacation! I am also sharing a short update on our house, while is in the early construction phase. For more photos of the house, follow me on Instagram. (I just posted some of the recent progress to my Instagram story).

Mother’s Day Gift Idea – Giorgio Beverly Hills Perfume

Tuesday, May 09, 2017

This post was sponsored by Giorgio Beverly Hills through their partnership with POPSUGAR. While I was compensated to write a post about Giorgio Beverly Hills, all opinions are my own.

Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and perfume always makes a great gift. I recently received the Giorgio Beverly Hills perfume from POPSUGAR, and I thought it was the perfect scent that my mom would love for Mother’s Day.

It’s described as a sharp, flowery scent for the classy woman, and I couldn’t agree more. It has notes of floral bergamot, orange flower, jasmine, sandalwood, cedarwood, and moss. It takes on a unique scent when applied to the body and lasts all day.

The Giorgio Beverly Hills perfume can be found at your local Kohl’s store or online here.

-GIVEAWAY & REVIEW: Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick & Liner

VIDEO: Maybelline Lipstick & Liner GIVEAWAY & Review

Sunday, April 30, 2017

Maybelline is one of my favorite drugstore makeup brands, because their products are highly pigmented, on trend, and affordable. Today I'm sharing some of their Color Sensational lipsticks and lip liners for spring that I recently received. I've been a long time fan of their lipsticks because they're creamy and have high impact color. They come in a range of matte and cream finishes, and tons of color options.

The Color Sensational Lip Liners are also awesome. The shade range is extensive, and they can be paired with your favorite lip product or worn alone for all day color. Mixing and matching the lip liners is one of my favorite tricks to do to get the perfect customized shade.

In this video, I showed how I apply the Color Sensational Lipstick in Born With It, a gorgeous pinky nude shade with a cream finish.

I also showed how to apply the Color Sensational Shaping Lip Liners, in Palest Pink (pictured on top) and Pink Coral (pictured on bottom).

One lucky winner will also have the chance to win the full set of lip liners (minus the 2 liners I swatched) and the lip sticks pictured above. Here's the full list (as pictured left to right above):

VIDEO: Final Thoughts on Curly Hair Products, Skincare, Self Tanner & More!

    Thursday, April 27, 2017

Each month I hang on to the products that I've used up so I can share my final thoughts on them, and if I plan to repurchase. I'm always in "declutter" mode because I have countless products but tend to stick to my favorites that I know work. These videos help motivate me to finally finish up products and share my final thoughts.

This month's video contains lots of hits and misses for various curly hair product lines I was testing from Kenra, Moroccan Oil, Living Proof and more. I also finished up some of my favorite skincare products (we'll see how long I can wait to repurchase until I use up my other stuff).
