VIDEO: St. Tropez Dark Self Tanner Review & Results

Sunday, August 20, 2017

Self-tanner is one of those products where I'm always looking for the next best one, because none of them are ever perfect. I've been a long time fan of my Fake Bake Darker, but wanted to try something in a mousse formula since that one is a spray.

Today I'm reviewing the St. Tropez Dark Self Tan Mousse. I was intrigued because I've always heard great things about St. Tropez, and it's always a top seller. I went with the Dark version because I have trouble getting a dark color with my skin without multiple applications.

Pros
  • Very dark color pay off. I only need about 2 coats to get to my typical dark shade.
  • Love the mousse formula. It's easy to apply and blends well without streaking. The dark color guard helps you see where you're applying it.
  • Great smell. Also doesn't smell bad on the skin after developing.
  • Lasts approximately 5 days with good dark color
Cons
  • Rubs off easily, especially on areas where there's friction. I discuss in the video how it would come off on my feet from my sandals, on my bra-strap line, etc.
  • Does not dry fast. I felt sticky for hours after applying it.
  • Bronzer layer comes off onto sheets, clothes, etc.

Check out my video above for more details on how I apply it and to see if I will repurchase!

Get the St. Tropez Dark Self Tan Mousse here for $45. (I purchased it for $25, but it must have been on sale at the time).

Having naturally curly hair means some serious dryness all year round, so I love doing deep conditioning treatments. If you've ever had a deep conditioning treatment done at the salon, they oftentimes will use a thermal hair cap to help the deep conditioner penetrate longer into the hair cuticle. With the Thermal Hair Care Hot Head, you can get a salon-like treatment right at home. Similar to a rice pack, it is heated in the microwave and stays warm for around 30 minutes.

Check out the video above to see how to use the Hot Head Hair Cap, and my results.

In this tutorial, I used the new DevaCurl Melt Into Moisture Matcha Butter Mask. Check out my full review here and enter to the giveaway to win a set of the new DevaCurl masks!

VIDEO: BECCA Cosmetics Lush Lip Balm Review & Swatches

BECCA Cosmetics never disappointing with their quality products! Aside from their stunning highlighters, I've been loving their recent lip product releases. The new Lush Lip Colour Balms recently came out so I thought I'd share my thoughts and swatch each one on my lips.
These creamy and lightweight balms contain castor oil, jojoba seed oil, and no parabens.

The collection has 8 shades, ranging from nude, pinks, coral, and deep reds, browns, and violet. There are 3 shades of brown, which is great for various skin tones to find the perfect nude. Not so much for me though since brown is not as flattering on me. Overall, I loved the nude, pink, and coral shades. I can also see myself loving the plum and burgundy shades this fall and winter.

Cafe Au Lait

Almond Fraise

Ginger Vanille

Chai Creme

Milk Chocolate

Toasted Hazelnut

Cherry Ganache

Black Violet

These are available only at ULTA stores, for $22 each. Which shade is your favorite?

DevaCurl's new curly hair masks, the Deep Sea Repair Seaweed Strengthening Mask and the Melt Into Moisture Matcha Butter Conditioning Mask, were released just in time for summer. They're designed to repair dry, damaged hair for moisturized defined curls.

DevaCurl invited me to NYC with tons of other gorgeous textured hair bloggers to test out the masks, share our thoughts, and celebrate natural hair. Check out this incredible video they put together for #CurlsUnmasked, where everyone shares their story transitioning their hair to its natural texture. DevaCurl was such a fun company to work for, and I was amazed at how they embrace natural hair and seem to care about providing quality products.

I met so many amazing bloggers with tons of different hair textures from wavy, curly, to coily. Cassy, who has gorgeous tight curls and I are teaming up to each giveaway a set of the new masks. Check out her YouTube channel here and Instagram! Giveaway details below.

Now for my thoughts and results from the masks!

Above is my incredible results from using the DevaCurl Deep Sea Repair Mask. The mask contains restorative seaweed, strengthening blend of rice, soy, and wheat proteins. Primarily a protein treatment, this mask is great to use every couple weeks to strengthen curls. If you have heat damage, color treated, or are transitioning to your natural curls this mask is perfect for you. In my before and after results above, you can see where my curls were more defined, less frizzy, and shiny.

The DevaCurl Melt Into Moisture Matcha Butter Conditioning Mask contains moisturizing matcha green tea butter, almond oil, and protective beet root extract. It's perfect when your hair needs a pick me and is looks dry and dull. It can be used for a quick 5 minute mask, or left on longer with a heat cap overnight.
