Tuesday, November 14, 2017

Every month or so I show you what products I recently finished up, and share my thoughts on if I loved them, or do not plan on re-purchasing. This month's is a bit larger than usual, since I recently did a big makeup de-clutter and have been trying to get rid of unused products. I'm featuring several curly hair products, primers, foundation, body products, and more. Some are repeat products, and some are new ones I was testing out. Watch the video to hear my thoughts and if I plan to repurchase.

Volition Beauty Detoxifying Silt Gelee Mask

Volition Beauty Detoxifying Silt Gelee Mask Results

I've always been a big fan of clay masks, because they are great for detoxifying the skin and clearing up acne. I recently have been testing a new brand available at Sephora, called Volition Beauty. Their products are high-quality, and are crafted by "innovators" who with particular skin concerns they want to address. The chemist who developed the Detoxifying Silt Gelee Mask wanted a detox mask that moisturized at the same time.

The VOLITION BEAUTY Detoxifying Silt Gelee Mask contains black silt, kaolin clay, jojoba oil, quinoa protein, and other natural ingredients. It's formulated without parabens, and is safe to use on all skin types, even sensitive skin.

The mask also comes with 2 soft sponges, that can be washed and reused to remove the mask.

I was intrigued by the gel texture of this mask, and it instantly felt soothing on my skin. The clay hardened up when it dried, but my skin never felt tight or dry. After about 20 minutes, I removed the mask and was impressed with how soft my skin felt. I typically have to load up on moisturizer after using a clay mask, but this one left my skin look supple and hydrated.

I've been using it now about once a week for a month now, and I love the results. I can't say it will completely clear up acne, but it has helped with my common clogged pores I always get. It's a great mask for a weekly detox and refresh.

Get the VOLITION BEAUTY Detoxifying Silt Gelee Mask here from Sephora for $60.

VIDEO: Unfinished House Tour + Why We're Building Vlog

Wednesday, October 25, 2017

I'm finally showing you guys our (unfinished) house! It's been a long, long time coming, and if you're following me on Instagram you may have seen random clips here or there. I'm always sharing updates on my stories, so make sure you're following me so you don't miss out!

I get asked a lot why we decided to build, so for the intro of this video I give a little back story on the process so far. It's been almost 2 years in the making, and we're finally (I hope) in the home stretch. Construction is quite the job, and requires an immense amount of patience.

We worked with our contractor to design it from start to finish, so I show a peak of the design plans in the video (and in the thumbnail above). Also shown in the thumbnail is our photo we used for inspiration. Our house sits literally on the side of a mountain, so the style is definitely craftsman mixed with farmhouse.

If you're interested in seeing some of our design choices, finishes, fixtures, and whatnot, I can perhaps do some blog posts or videos if you're interested. But as I mentioned, I'm always sharing on Insta when I'm shopping for things.

In the tour, I take you through the current state of the construction progress. We have siding going on very soon, followed by the hardwood floors, tile, and on to my favorite part, the cabinets. I will definitely be doing another tour when we start getting pretty things to look at ;)

Let me know your thoughts in the comments and what you'd like to see!
